A major highlight is the complete tomb collection of King Tutankhamun, brought together to create one of the world’s most anticipated museum experiences.

Accommodation and meals: Overnight at the Cairo Marriott Hotel, Nile River, 5-star. Meals are at your own expense today.

Day 2: The First of 2 Incredible Days Touring Cairo

The Pyramids of Giza, the ultimate act of devotion

Today begins with one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological experiences: the Pyramids of Giza. These monumental structures stand as enduring symbols of Egyptian faith, ingenuity and ambition, and remain among the greatest achievements of any ancient civilisation.

The pharaohs Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure commissioned the Giza pyramids, which have stood for more than 4,500 years. Their achievements were built on earlier innovations, including those of Sneferu, who commissioned three pyramids during his reign and helped shape the architectural path that made Giza possible. Even today, these monuments continue to inspire questions, wonder and admiration.

The Sphinx is equally compelling. With no surviving inscription to confirm its builder or original purpose, it remains one of Egypt’s most intriguing monuments: instantly recognisable, deeply mysterious and unforgettable to encounter in person.

You will then visit Memphis, once the capital of ancient Egypt and the burial ground of some of its earliest rulers. Although few original structures remain, the site still conveys its former importance, with impressive statues of Ramses II among its enduring highlights.

Saqqara is one of Egypt’s most important archaeological landscapes, with ongoing excavations continuing to reveal previously unknown tombs and discoveries. At its heart is the Step Pyramid of Djoser, regarded as the first monumental stone building in history and the tallest known construction in the world until the mid-19th century. Beneath it lies an extraordinary network of tunnels and chambers that adds to the site’s fascination.

Accommodation and meals: Overnight at the Cairo Marriott Hotel, Nile River, 5-star, the second of three nights. Breakfast and lunch included; dinner at your own expense.

Day 3: Where History, Culture and Adventure Converge

At the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation, Egypt’s story is presented through carefully curated themes, from daily life and belief to innovation and royal legacy. The Royal Mummies Gallery offers a powerful encounter with the people, achievements and beliefs that shaped Egypt through the ages.

Old Cairo

Old Cairo reveals another layer of the city’s story, with Coptic Cairo and early Islamic landmarks forming part of Historic Cairo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Muhammed Ali Mosque: This mosque with its animated silhouette and twin minarets, is the most visible mosque in Cairo.

Coptic Cairo

Coptic Cairo offers a deeply atmospheric encounter with Egypt’s Christian heritage, with traditions connected to Moses and the Holy Family’s flight into Egypt. Its churches, ancient walls and sacred stories make this part of the city especially meaningful.

Accommodation and meals: Overnight at the Cairo Marriott Hotel, Nile River, 5-star, the third of three nights. Breakfast and lunch included; dinner at your own expense.

Today You Fly to Aswan to Join Your Nile Cruise

After breakfast, transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan, gateway to one of Egypt’s most atmospheric stretches of the Nile. On arrival, the pace shifts beautifully from the energy of Cairo to the gentle rhythm of the river, setting the scene for the start of your Nile cruise experience.

Aswan Dam and Elephantine Island: Visit the Aswan High Dam, one of modern Egypt’s most significant engineering achievements, before enjoying a one-hour sail by traditional felucca. This graceful sailing experience offers a beautiful perspective on the Nile, with river views that introduce the serene character of Aswan before your excursion to the Philae Temple complex.

Philae Temple Complex: Dedicated to the goddess Isis, Philae is one of Egypt’s most romantic temple settings. According to legend, this is where Isis found the heart of Osiris and buried it on the island, giving the site a powerful place in Egyptian myth and memory.

Accommodation and meals: Overnight aboard your Nile cruise vessel, the first of three nights. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 5: Leisurely Cruising Plus Amazing Sites

Abu Simbel: Built by Ramses II in the 13th century BC, Abu Simbel is one of Egypt’s most awe-inspiring temple complexes. Its colossal statues, dramatic desert setting and remarkable relocation during the construction of the Aswan High Dam make it a powerful testament to both ancient ambition and modern preservation.

Temple of Kom Ombo: Set on the banks of the Nile, Kom Ombo is unique in Egypt as a double temple dedicated to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder. Its riverside location and unusual symmetrical design make it one of the most memorable stops along the Nile.

Accommodation and meals: Overnight aboard your Nile cruise vessel, the second of three nights. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 6: Where History Flows and Captivates

The great temples of Karnak and Luxor form one of Egypt’s most extraordinary sacred landscapes. Located on the east bank of the Nile, these vast temple complexes reveal centuries of devotion, power and artistic achievement through their sanctuaries, pylons, obelisks and monumental courts dedicated to the gods and pharaohs.

Accommodation and meals: Overnight aboard your Nile cruise vessel, the third and final night. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 7: A Spectacular Day

Simply Amazing – Where Pharaohs Began Their Life

The Valley of the Kings: The Valley is where rock-cut tombs were excavated for the pharaohs. The Valley of the Workers: This is an ancient workmen’s village that was home to the artisans who worked on the tombs.

The Temple of Hatshepsut: Queen Hatshepsut’s magnificent mortuary temple was designed to celebrate her reign, honour the gods and assert her authority as one of Egypt’s most remarkable rulers.

Transfers, flights, accommodation and meals: After your touring in Luxor, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo. Overnight at the Cairo Marriott Hotel, 5-star. Breakfast and lunch included; dinner at your own expense.
