It isn’t every day you can enjoy the company of a world-class Egyptologist, author, professor, and media expert – think Discovery, Netflix, BBC, Nat Geo, and more. One Horizon is thrilled to welcome the participation of Dr. Ikram to our women’s touring groups as a consultant, lecturer, and dining companion!

Dr. Ikram will not only expand your knowledge of Egyptian history, the Pharaohs, and the culture of the afterlife, but brings her insightful perspectives on contemporary women’s issues in Egyptian society.  Our private group dinner experience with Dr Ikram and your fellow travellers will be one of the highlights of your tour experience.

We recognize that for many women, an overseas adventure is more than just a collection of souvenirs and photos, but rather a celebration of personal milestones or perhaps an experience intended to honour the passing of a loved one or the beginning of a new phase of life.

Our Travel With a Purpose tours tend to resonate with the female point of view. These are local experiences where our guests come into contact with Egyptian families, meeting them in their homes and villages in the Nile Delta, person to person. Or sitting with them and talking about life, or baking and breaking bread together in their kitchens.  On other occasions, walking in their fields (or even helping them) as they go about their daily lives.
