Her Story

Even as a young girl in Lahore, Pakistan, Salima had an early interest in history, artifacts, and
everything Egyptian. She followed her passion to the U.S., studying Classical and Near Eastern
Archaeology at Bryn Mawr College. Then, she continued her studies at Cambridge University, receiving
her PhD in Egyptian archaeology.

Her expertise has taken her to expeditions, lectures, and tours in Egypt, Turkey, Sudan, Greece, and
the United States. Salima is a world-leading scholar in Egyptian Funerary archaeology and is an expert
on and has promoted the heretofore undiscovered knowledge of animal mummies.
