DAHABIYYA – A Traditional Egyptian Sailboat

The Dahabiya Hadeel offers an authentic and luxurious experience of exploring the Nile. With only 8 ensuite cabins, this intimate boat combines modern comfort with old-world charm. The spacious upper deck provides a serene setting for sunrise yoga, sunbathing, or relaxing in the jacuzzi. Culinary delights, blending Egyptian and international cuisines, are prepared onboard and can accommodate dietary restrictions, served in the dining room or on the riverbank.

The Hadeel consists of:

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival In Cairo and Your Accommodation

Our representative will be on hand to facilitate you through Customs and Immigration and then book you into your hotel.

Your first night will be at the Cairo Marriott (Nile River) 5 Star Hotel or equivalent. Dinner at Own Expense.

Optional Tour: Depending on your arrival time in Cairo you may like to do some shopping at Khan El Khalili Bazaar.

Day 2: Today You Fly to Aswan to Join Your Nile Cruise

Breakfast at the hotel – transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan. You will visit:

Aswan Dam: The dam is the world’s largest embankment barrier.

Philae Temple Complex: 

According to the legend, Philae is the place where Isis found the heart of Osiris and buried it on the Island.

Transfer to your cruise vessel and overnight – the first of 5 nights. B L D Included

Day 3: Kombo Ombo Temple

We start the day sailing to and visiting  the double sanctuary of Kom Ombo Temple picturesquely situated directly on the river bank.

  • The temple is dedicated both to the crocodile God Sobek as well as Haroeris.
  • After the visit we continue sailing towards Gebel El Silsila.

Overnight – the second of 5 nights on the Hadeel. B L D Included

Day 4: Gebel El Silsila

Sailing to Gebel El Silsila where: the stones for the temples in Egypt were quarried.

  • After the tour we continue southwards to Fawaza Island
  • Your Dahabiyya moors overnight  and where we enjoy an Egyptian barbeque perfectly prepared by our onboard Chef.

Day 5: Edfu

Start sailing to Edfu and visit the temple of Horus

  • After visit continue sailing to El Kab, to visit one of Egypt’s oldest cities, today in ruins.
  • Overnight on the river bank on board S.S “Hadeel”

Day 6: Karnak and Luxor

All day sailing and after passing the locks , we arrive in Luxor to visit the east bank the Karnak and Luxor temples.

The Great Temples of Karnak and Luxor   are an ancient Egyptian temple precinct located on the east bank of the Nile River.

It is an extraordinary complex of sanctuaries, kiosks, pylons, and obelisks dedicated to the pharaohs.

Overnight – the fifth of 5 nights on the Hadeel. B L D Included 

Day 7: Valley of the Kings

The Valley of the Kings: The Valley is where rock-cut tombs were excavated for the pharaohs in the New Kingdom.

The Valley of the Workers: This is an ancient workmen’s village that was home to the artisans who worked on the tombs.

The Temple of  Hatshepsut Queen Hatshepsut’s temple was built to tell Hatshepsut’s life story and to assert her power.

Optional:   Depending on your departure time, you may opt for overnight accommodation at the Cairo Marriott.

Day 8: Optonal

Checkout: Depending on your departure time, you may have an opportunity to relax or enjoy a shopping experience at the Khan El Khalili Bazaar.

Transfers and Flights:  You will be transferred to Cairo International Airport for your ongoing journey.

The Hadeel

Sail the Nile as it was truly meant to be sailed-under the unfurled canvas sails of a traditional Egyptian sailboat know as a Dahabiyya.  Dahabiyya are beautifully crafted sailboats which were a very popular means of Nile travel amongst the wealthy and aristocrats of the late 1800’s to around the 1950’s.

Measuring 45m long x7.5m wide, the “Hadeel” has only 8 beautifully appointed cabins. Other facilities on board include a stylish lounge, a dining room and Jacuzzi. All public areas are also air conditioned. The spacious and partially shaded top desk offers guests the opportunity to recline on comfortable deck chairs enjoying the Nile vistas, sunbathing, dining, or watching the breath-taking Nile sunsets.

The “Hadeel ” is staffed by an experienced crew of 10 who will ensure your every need is catered for. As passenger numbers are limited to only 16,  our guests a much more personalized level of service.  Our on board chef is highly skilled at preparing both international and Egyptian cuisine.
