Overview
Your Sharm El Sheik vacation combines the very best that Egypt has to offer. Not only will you experience the Great Pyramids of the Giza Plateau, but also the iconic Sphinx. Both are over 4,500 years old and a testament to the engineering brilliance of the ancient Egyptians. For that reason, this tour includes a visit to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC). The museum not only captures the essence of both the pharaoh’s influence over Egypt but also the impact of Christianity and Islam in shaping what Egypt is today.
Over the last 2 years, the most notable antiquities have been transferred to NMEC and the once scattered locations of ancient Egypt’s many artifacts are now a complete collection within the museum. Central to this are the mummies of the most famous pharaohs of ancient Egypt which now reside at the museum as well.
You will discover all of this before you embark on the brilliance of Sharm El Sheik. The kaleidoscope of colours that greet your arrival is simply astounding. The clarity of the sea, the colours of the coral and the teeming world of fish will draw you to the water every day. And when you do decide to venture outside of the resort to the town itself, you will find great markets to visit, a stunning nightlife of restaurants and bars, and a myriad of attractions. A wonderful way to sample everything that Egypt has to offer.

For travelers to Egypt, it provides deep insight into the amazing society that the Egyptians built from prehistoric days to the present. It currently displays over 200 pharaonic mummies and 50,000 artifacts.
The Pyramids of Giza, the ultimate act of devotion
Today we start with perhaps the greatest monuments to Egyptian faith, ingenuity and achievement of any civilisation – the pyramids of Giza.
The pharaohs Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure were the builders of the Giza Pyramids which have stood for over 4500 years. They are a testament to ancient Egyptians’ engineering skills and also to their grandfather, Sneferu . Sneferu had built 3 pyramids in his lifetime and without him, the Giza Pyramids would not have been built. But many mysteries remain.
Similarly, the Sphinx has many mysteries as their are no inscriptions which identify the builder and its purpose. It’s an amazing edifice which we know little about.
The Sphinx
The Sphinx continues to intrigue Egyptologists to this day as it has not been linked directly to any pharaoh. No inscriptions have ever been found on the Sphinx, and the debate continues.
